Another notable distinction for Kaylia Nemour! The Algerian Olympic champion won a gold medal this Sunday at the Gymnastics World Cup currently taking place in Egypt.

The gymnast excelled in the uneven bars event, taking first place with an impressive score of 14.533 points. Her remarkable performance in this final convinced the jury, who awarded her the highest score of the competition. She finished ahead of Slovenian Lucija Hribar (13.133) and Egyptian Judy Abdalla (12.566).

This gold medal confirms the excellence of the Algerian champion, who delivered a high-level performance in this particularly demanding technical discipline.

Kaylia Nemour once again honored the Algerian flag in a prestigious event, after brilliantly winning the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games last August. At 18, we can predict a bright future for her.

It’s worth noting that the Algerian gymnast can also earn two other silver-gilt charms. She qualified for the beam and floor finals. In addition to Nemour, Sihem Hamidi and Adem Cogat also excelled in this event, brilliantly qualifying for the vault and floor finals, respectively.

One month after her brilliance in Montreal

Last March, Kaylia Nemour achieved a resounding success at the 39th edition of the Gymnix International Cup in Montreal. With an impressive score of 54.200 points in the individual overall standings, she edged out Canadians Lia Monica Fontaine (52.800 points) and Alyssa Guerrier-Calixste (52.100 points).

The Paris 2024 Olympic champion particularly stood out in her favorite disciplines. She dominated the uneven bars with 14.750 points and the balance beam with 13.600 points. In the other events, she placed 5th on floor exercise and 6th on vault.

The other Algerian representative, Sihem Hamidi, struggled, particularly on the uneven bars, finishing 20th overall with 35.250 points. In the team rankings, Algeria, represented by just these two athletes, finished sixth with a total of 88,450 points.

After distinguishing herself in two prestigious world events in the space of a month, Kaylia Nemour confirmed her status as a rising star in international gymnastics. She strengthened Algeria’s position in this discipline.
