President of the Republic Receives Global Artist “DJ Snake”
Achieved great fame through collaborations with music industry stars
Today, Monday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received the world-renowned Algerian artist William Grigahcine, as announced in a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
The artist, known as “DJ Snake,” is a Franco-Algerian music producer and DJ, born on June 13, 1986, in Paris to a French father and an Algerian mother. He began his musical career at a young age and gained significant global fame through collaborations with major music stars such as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.
Yesterday evening, DJ Snake performed at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris during the celebration of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League victory on Saturday in Munich. He is one of the club’s most prominent supporters.
DJ Snake became particularly well-known among the Algerian public in the summer of 2022 with his musical track “Disco Maghreb,” which revived one of the most famous Rai music production companies from the 1980s and 1990s, highlighting a part of Algeria’s cultural heritage. The music video garnered over 186 million views on YouTube. During the same year, he attended the opening ceremony of the Mediterranean Games hosted in the city of Oran, “El Bahia,” and has since made regular visits to his mother’s homeland, expressing pride in his Algerian roots.
The artist has also stood out for his solidarity with the people of Gaza, who have been subjected to a brutal Zionist aggression since October 7, 2023. He has expressed his support through his social media accounts and during his performances, which attract thousands of fans in various cities around the world.
